My Civic has 180,000 miles. Is it worth more than scrap?

Usually yes. The Civic ranks sixth of every model in iSeeCars' 2026 retention study, losing 22.9% of its value over five years against a 41.8% average. That strength carries to the end of the car's life because a parts buyer knows a Civic engine, transmission, or door will sell. Running or not, a Civic prices above bare weight.

The transmission on my 2014 Civic failed. Does that kill the offer?

It lowers it, it does not zero it. Honda recalled 2014-2015 Civics built between January 16 and November 6, 2014 (NHTSA 15V-574) because the transmission software could damage the drive pulley shaft. If that campaign is still open on your VIN, a dealer performs it free, and a Civic with a working transmission sells for more. If the damage is done, the body and interior still carry real value in New York.

What have you actually paid for a Honda?

A 2015 Pilot in Brooklyn was offered $3,095 on September 1, 2026. That is the high end for an eleven-year-old vehicle, and Pilots earn it: 13.1% of them reach 250,000 miles, the best figure of any Honda in iSeeCars' 2025 study.

Will you buy a Honda that was stolen and recovered?

Yes. NICB counted nearly 100,000 Accords and Civics stolen in 2016 alone, and recovered Hondas often come back with a punched ignition, a missing converter, or a salvage brand on the title. All three are fine. Tell us up front, because a salvage title routes the car to a different buyer and we would rather quote the right number the first time.

Does the Accord steering complaint pattern affect the offer?

Only a little. Steering leads the 2013 Accord's NHTSA file at 406 of 1,418 complaints, so a buyer will ask whether the work was done. If you have the receipts, keep them with the title; if not, the offer is built from the rest of the car.
