The Process

How It Works

Free towing, an honest instant offer, and DMV paperwork handled — here’s how selling your junk car works, start to finish.

Instant OfferNY

Tell us about your vehicle

Find it on your dashboard, driver's door jamb, or registration.

Step 1 of 4No spam. NY only.

Three Steps, Start To Finish

Here's exactly what to expect at each stage, and what to have ready.

1

Get Your Instant Offer

Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition — online or by phone. We price it on the spot using that information plus current scrap value, so there's no back-and-forth haggling.

Have ready

  • Year, make, and model
  • Honest condition (running, wrecked, missing parts, etc.)
  • Your ZIP code, so we can plan pickup
2

Schedule Free Pickup

Once you accept the offer, we schedule a pickup time that works for you. Towing is free anywhere in New York, and the car doesn't need to run — our driver loads it from wherever it sits.

Have ready

  • The title, if you have it
  • A clear path for the tow truck to reach the car
  • Keys, if the car has any and they still work
3

Get Paid — instant payment

The driver confirms the car matches what you described, you sign the title over, and you receive instant payment on the spot. No waiting on a check in the mail.

Have ready

  • Signed title (seller section on the back)
  • License plates removed
  • A valid photo ID matching the name on the title

What Happens At Pickup

  • The driver checks the car. Before anything else, the driver verifies the vehicle matches the description you gave us when you got your offer.
  • You sign the title over. You’ll sign the seller section on the back of the title at pickup, in front of the driver.
  • Plates come off first. Your plates need to be removed before the car is loaded — they’re registered to you, not the car, and don’t go with it.
  • You get instant payment on the spot. Once the car and paperwork check out, you’re paid right there — no waiting.

NY Paperwork We Handle

Title transfer.Once you sign the title over to us at pickup, we take it from there — you don’t need to visit a DMV office to complete the transfer.

Plate surrender. New York requires you to surrender your plates to the DMV and cancel or transfer your registration before you cancel your insurance. The DMV issues an FS-6 receipt as proof of surrender — hold onto it.

Plate and registration rules can change, and your situation (leased vehicle, lost title, out-of-state title) may need extra steps. For the current, official process, see dmv.ny.gov.

Frequently Asked

What kinds of cars do you buy?

Just about anything — running or not, wrecked, flooded, rusted out, or missing parts. We make offers on cars that other buyers pass on.

Do I need the title?

Having the title in hand is best — you'll sign it over in the seller section on the back at pickup. If your title is missing, tell us your situation and we'll walk you through what's possible.

How is my offer calculated?

We price your car based on year, make, model, and condition, plus current scrap value. Junk cars typically bring a few hundred dollars, with newer and larger vehicles worth more — get your own instant offer for an exact number.

Is towing really free?

Yes — free towing means $0, no hidden fee, anywhere in New York.

How fast can you pick up?

We move quickly once your offer is accepted. Exact timing depends on your location and schedule, so we'll confirm a pickup window with you directly.

What paperwork do I need in NY?

You'll need your signed-over title, and your plates should come off before pickup. New York requires sellers to surrender plates to the DMV before cancelling insurance, and the DMV issues an FS-6 receipt for the surrender — we'll walk you through it.

What happens to my plates?

Remove your plates before we arrive for pickup. You'll then surrender them to the DMV and keep the FS-6 receipt as your proof of surrender — check dmv.ny.gov for details on the process.

When and how do I get paid?

You get paid at pickup once the vehicle and paperwork are confirmed — no waiting around for a check in the mail.

We’ll Buy It.

Because when it comes down to it, junk cars are our thing. Anywhere in New York.
